Great video.
Now I have a hankering for a rolling block.

PS:
A few months later I was back at the shop to take the rifle where it belonged.... the home of a five-year old kid!

Wow, what an amazing achievement - blood, sweat and passion TC!

Congratulations and very well done!

XL, I was thinking of making this suggestion to you. Get the Model 1 Spanish carbine.
It's a sweet little rifle that kicks like a mule and hits the target as long as you can aim :D

Or better still get a rolling block pistol in 50 cal :D

Briha Sir,
I don't have words to thank you. When I gave the last finishing touches to the rifle two days ago and wrapped it
up I though I was the happiest man on earth. I was wrong. Now I am. :D :D :D
Please accept my deepest regards

Thank you so much Basuda. I knew you will love the rifle.
Yes I love antiques because they tell us so much about human history.
This beauty will be present at the next IFG meet in Kolkata :D

Thank you so much Abhi.
I have watched your passion about Vics and know that you too have the same passion. This is the right forum for enthusiasts like you to learn about guns
and take the passion forward. :D

TC, thank you for sharing this experience with us.

Now all that this reincarnated beauty needs, is for you to put into action your top notch photography skills, to showcase its every lovingly finished aspect to our gun loving bretheren. And...a range report - dare I ask, video?

Shoot the bucket - al la, Kolkatta Down Under (single shot prep torture - delicious)!

Not to forget - the close up of ejection of the casing from the famous rolling block! And when you finish, gently blow the smoke out of the breech through the barrel!

:D

Well done again TC my friend!

Great job TC, the work of a true craftsman and indeed a labour of love. Your attention to detail and the exquisite finish in each aspect, doing and redoing where necessary, all speak of a great love affair.
Hence TC I have a request, nay demand, next time we do dinner together in Kolkata you allow me to fondle her. Would love to see it in person.
A great work TC

Well done again TC my friend!
Kalyanda,
You have encouraged me the most in many of my escapades and I won't let you down on this one
Photographs in sunlight... in three days
Range report... two weeks at the most.
Video with closeup of the action and ejection. Will try slow motion as well

But you really want me to match such marksmanship ? I doubt. The rifle Tom Selleck was firing (such professional enactment) is a Sharps, the best long range rifle America built in the 19th Century. Whether in the mountains or the plains, Sharps was the last word in sharpshooting. The Remington rolling block was only a notch below, if I go by experts on American single shot rifles.
But I will still give it a shot... will a tiny paper cup at 40 mt. do ?

(TC turns to the lady and asks : "where's my hat dear ? and the duster... Lady leaves room in a hurry)

ROTFL

TC

Thank you so much Lanceman. Yes it is a love affair. Whenever this beauty and the lady happens to be in the same room I smell something burning
I know how much these old beauties attract you. In fact the picture of a Sharps rifle you mailed me last year became my cover photo on Facebook for a long time.

Your demand is more than a command Sir. In any case I have to make up for missing the last meeting (and dinner :( )
This time we will have double on the rocks
TC
