This done, examine the dimensions of the fired shell visually and you'll have your answer. I had a friend re bored a beautiful German double (8X60R) rifle to 315 IOF, It fired alright except that the bottleneck shell fire formed into a straight wall. He managed to sell it at a decent price as well. We Indians don't care about the spent shell once the bullet manages to leave the barrel as long as it manages to hit somewhere around the intended target.

Sure hope that double was an 8x60RS, and not an 8x60R. Though it's amazing how much abuse these guns can take. Until the cartridge case lets go, and the fun is over.

It was 8x60R for sure TwoRiver and I had the privilege of shooting some original ammo through it as well in the 70s. I vividly remember it was packed in tin cases of ten ctges each which peeled like a Sardine can. The rifle came from the collection of an ex ruler with 250 ctges and was sold to a common friend for a token sum of Rs.2200/. We addressed it as a 315 German Magnum out of ignorance those days. It was phenomenally accurate within 150 yds with both barrels and that ammo.
Cheers!
