.256(6.5x57) v/s 30.06

hi brothers,
thank you once again, i have finally made up my mind about buying the i.o.f 30.06
and getting it customized from Mr. sidhu ( who happens to be a close family friend).guess
i got a bit carried away after hearing about those"foreign made" rifles for sale and
completely forgot about the indian made rifle.

3006 is the one to go for as it has many things going for. remember no ammo no shoot, only ends up an expansive wall piece.

i do realy agree with goodboy mentor,because i have both 30-06& a 6.5x57 by brno. after using both the rifles i am very much happy with my 30 ,it gave me a group of 1.5 inch at 90yds. and that is alot that one can expect from a indian manufacturer.

Value for the money, by far the Brno 6.5 mm, whichever model it may be. Hit in the same spot, neither man nor beast will be able to tell whether it was a .256, or a .30-06. As far as trajectory and penetration are concerned, they are equal. They shoot bullets of comparable sectional density at equal velocity. But in India, availability of ammo should probably be your deciding factor. However, with your limited ammo quota, and ability to use the rifle, is that really a matter of great concern?
