One can safely guess that the FN small arms carried by the various VIP protection teams assigned to our politicians also use imported ammo as IOF has no setup to manufacture ammo for the FN P90, FN2000 and 57 pistols, all of which use modern calibers developed in the last decade.

SIR,
yes,
absolutely that is going give you better results than that of IOF.
If you talk of ammos. I can say all the raw materials are being exported from here only but our government is least bothered about the quality of ammunition produced by IOF,and if you ask the IOF personnel they give a simple answer we trying to develop our infrastructure we have written it to goverment.
by the time they develops the goons use to come up with steel jacketed bullets in India.

with this kind of mounts, they should provide boresighter with this rifle
I think it is really unfortunate approach, why not just copy some good rifle like DPMS panther for example.

Stupid blithering idiots. That about sums up the charlatans at IOF.
Why re-invent the wheel? SMLE based 'sniper' rifles have been around since WWI.
In 7.62X51 the British L42 has been-there-done-that for ages....with far lesser bing-bling.
All I see is a Sako TRG inspired stock mated to IOF's legendary ironmongery. Seeing the 'development' trend in IOF products over the past several years, one can notice that someone in the IOF Plastics department has been going hog wild. There's hardly been anything else worth calling development...forget about evolution.
One can imagine how many crores went into phoney "R&D".
What a tamasha.

can we file a PIL or have the plight of IOF in a report in the leading dailies of India? That might bring about a change, our Judiciary and Media are the only thing thats worth a hope for a citizen!
Rules and regulations binding these organisations are more of self-policing ones, and is still not for the democratic way!! they need to be responsible for the people, and not to politicians and babus!!

nay the best is to get imports removed and all the trash that the IOF makes will end up cheapest and in the bin.

AAARRGH!!! MY EYES!!!!! MY EYES!!!!
"With solid bullets on heavy animals such as elephant, rhino and buffalo this power is quite apparent but is not so obvious as when soft-nose bullets are being used, say, lion, particularly when is a case of stopping a charge : the .404 will stop him all right, but will seldom crumple him quite so completely as will the .416" -- John Taylor, Big Game and Big Game Rifles, (Ch. IX)
