Great work, Deepak. And the total cost, Gun plus your workmanship??

Deepak, that is excellent work! Unless IOF are doing things differently, you seem to have reprofiled the rear sight base as well.
What is the LOP with your new stock?
Thanks.

Captain, as Deepak's mentioned earlier, he's a gunsmith and he's done this himself. Unfortunately, despite all of us asking, he's yet to come up with a figure for his hard work. :(

Folks

I hope I'm wrong but I'm getting a bad vibe with Deepak's post. Something just doesn't tally. He posts this kind of work and then justs dissappears. No explainations offered.......nothing! If he really is a gunsmith, he seems to be too young to hold a armourers license, does not offer a treatise on his work, and most unlike dealers/ armourers in India, has not responded to anyone's querries nor looked for business!

I wanted to have a stock redone for my IOF 30-06, and had been watching this thread to get a feel of his work.

Deepak,

Worked on a IOF 30-06 yet? What would you do about the phosphating on the reciever? Let me have your views? BTW, where are you located?

Katana: I doubt very much that the aluminum receiver of the IOF .30-06 has a phosphate finish, that is normally done on steel. Aluminum is normally finished by anodizing, which gives a very hard surface finish and can be done in many colors. You would not want to remove that.
IOF, in their unique fashion, may well finish the receiver in a different manner. Any member know more about that?
