Need to replace trigger mechanism on iof .30-06
Hi
In case we needed to replace the trigger mechanism on the iof .30-06, how do we do it?
I bought a new weapon in 2017 and twice the weapon misfired when I used the safety on/off button. I immediately had the weapon checked and the gunsmith told me and and showed me the trigger mechanism which had already been tampered.
What should I do??? Please advise.

My Frank advise is to Find a perfect gun Smith and make it right sir.
As far as my knowledge is concern none of dealers will take the risk of exchanging or replacing the weapon .
So get that weapon checked by expert rifle Smith and repair it .

Thanks Sathvik,
That is what the gunsmith offered but then a weapon is a weapon. Don’t want to take chances .
can’t we just buy the part from the IOF??

Frankly speaking I don't know and there is a lot of possible chance that IOF denies your request.

Hi Tariq,
How are you ?
Please don't worry at all.
The IOF uses substandard material. The more parts you change at a good gunsmith the better your arm will be.
I have already got about four rubbish changed on my Ashani Mk2, also got a proper sight made, and it's firing "bullseye".
Where do you live ??
I may be able to guide you to a correct guy.
By the way i am not in arms business; am s military man born & brought up with arms.
You may email me at [email protected].
Take care.
Rajiv.

Re: Need to replace trigger mechanism on iof .30-06
Hello,
Okay gentlemen, i have discovered about the IOF pistols.
The leaf spring/kamani used by IOF makes the trigger too hard, which you will come to know when you buy.
So they file off the leaf spring to make the trigger soft, but this causes misfire of first round, which you cannot check while buying.
It's no big deal. Just replace it from a good gunsmith. If you find yhe trigger too hard, keep the pistol cocked for a day, it'll become okay, and without misfiring.
Take care.
Rajiv

Tariq,
You have a PM.
You have a PM.
"With solid bullets on heavy animals such as elephant, rhino and buffalo this power is quite apparent but is not so obvious as when soft-nose bullets are being used, say, lion, particularly when is a case of stopping a charge : the .404 will stop him all right, but will seldom crumple him quite so completely as will the .416" -- John Taylor, Big Game and Big Game Rifles, (Ch. IX)

Apparently the old man told me that I was not cocking the bolt fully. I think I will let go off this .30/06 and go for a good imported .22 LR.
