Got My New License in Jaipur

Post by 17H » Wed Mar 13, 2013 10:35 pm

Hi Gents,

Got my Brand new license for 0.22 Rifle from Commissioner of police, Jaipur. It was a rather smooth experience with most of the police related enquiries being cleared within reasonable period. Maximum time was taken by the forest, revenue & crime branch clearance.

Also once the file was completed they did not send the information directly to me for completing balance formalities. Had to go and meet the commissioner personally twice before he called for the file and approved the application. Experience at Commissioners office was surprisingly nice with courteous policemen and women (which is rare to say the least), extremely fast action in preparing the file, submitting it before the Commissioner, and actual issue was done within two days, without any influence, follow up or bribes.

Now have 3 months time to add a weapon to my license.

Will Post further developments as and when they happen.

Regards

Ajit

Hello 17H,

Congratulations on getting your arms licence. Which weapons have you bought?

Regards.

Congrats Ajit...Did you specifically applied for .22lr Rifle license or just NPB Rifle? Do post the pic once you get hold of a decent rifle...

Thanks a lot gentlemen, and sorry for the confusion. Was based at Kottayam earlier but have moved to Jaipur, which is my home town. Will update my profile ASAP.
I had applied for a Shotgun and a 0.22 Rifle. Attached my certificates from Kerala State and GV Mavalankar tournaments. Commissioner in his wisdom decided to give license for only 0.22 Rifle. Shotgun is on hold for the time being. This was OK with me as rifle was always my first priority.

I am actually looking for a match grade rifle, and have zeroed in on a couple of weapons. Will post in the pictures as soon as I have it. Meanwhile thanks to the knowledgeable people on the forum, addiing to my knowledge on the finer points on rifles
