Hi Guys,
I Have always found the fallschirmgewehr 42 a fascinating battle rifle and amazed by the Luftwaffe's accomplishment in creating it. The chance of ever firing one seemed so slim yet I heard of work going on in the production of a repro FG42 and so I waited with bated breath. In a relatively short period of time(couple of years) not one but apparently three manufacturers have come out with repro FG42's. An American company called Smg Guns has created a semi auto only fg42 chambered for 8mm and .308, while a German company called HZA Kulmbach GmbH has come out with a select fire FG42. The third company also from Germany called Tactics group(I only recently heard about this) is/has come out with a modernized FG42, sporting picatinny rails and accessories, polymer parts and ar-15 compatible pistol grips. Dont know about you guys but I am definitely loving this trend of reproducing some of the rarer and hard to get firearms.
This youtube video by Ian of Forgotten Weapons(excellent yt channel) explains the FG42 repro by SMG Guns.
