Day at the range

Post by kragiesardar » Tue Oct 12, 2010 6:02 am

Getting ready for our trip to RSA this November. Had to get my favorite rifle,a Brno, 601 in 30.06 restocked. The old stock had worn off from empties hitting the wood next to the bolt handle. Took it to the range, had to re sight it a bit but then it was sighted in at 100 yards. Still not happy, never had flyers from a cold barrel before which is why I love the gun. Will be shooting it again this week as well as sighting in the double that I bought. Will post pictures on all. The range doesn’t allow cameras so the pictures were taken with a cell phone, asked and the range master was fine with it, go figure…

First shots, dispersal due to adjusting the Leopold

About 60 odd rounds fired in whole

Top one was a flyer due to me pulling it, all at 100 yards, it has shot way better in the past, may need to settle in a little more

Goodies at the range, sorry for the poor quality

What a pleasant partner to go to the range with! I love the lines and the new stock looks very nice. Thanks for the pics!

Very nice & classic looks. Who did the restocking? Did you select the blank?

Hi Herb,
Local gunsmith called Lefty as he has only his right hand. Was a commercial fisherman in Alaska, had some very interesting fishing pictures at his house. Never asked him how he lost his hand till his forearm. Bought the stock from a vendor off Shotgun News, American Classic Gunstocks.
Have done it in the past myself, very time consuming and I do not know how to do the checkering.
Regards,
KS
