Mehul: All the M-S cartridges. 6.5, 8, 9, and 9.5mm, were cartridges developed for, and chambered in, the Mannlicher-Schoenauer turn-bolt. The straight-pulls were not produced as sporters by Steyr, and were only chambered for the 8x50 R, a.k.a. .315 Mannlicher/.315 India. Later they were rechambered to 8x56 R. (Known in the US as the 8x56 Hungarian, though the development was Austrian. And the Hungarians actually used slightly different bore/bullet dimensions.) The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, later known as Yugoslavia, converted M95 straight-pulls to 8x57S. Some M88s were also converted to 8x57S in the Balkans. In 8x57S, the converted M95s have feeding problems. The M88s pinch the ejector blade after the bolt is worked vigorously. Neither conversion was a qualified success.
Cheers.
OT, but since it's linked to the M-S carbine...
