Hi all.
As its evident from my profile,im completely new to this forum and this is my first post. :) And seek your valuable suggestions for the purchase of my first handgun,a Barreta model 1934.The local vendor here is quoting a price of Rs.5 lacs of which ive paid the 75% and in posession of the gun now.I have also testfired 5 shots but didn't know what to guage in a testfire. :stupid: First time shooting. The good thing is the vendor has assured me to exchange the pistol for another model of my choice if im not satisfied with the Beretta. So basically I want to know your opinions on the Berreta 1934 and if its negative of sorts any alternate model in the same price bracket. Thanks in advance. :D

ok.it seems there are some other options at a vendor here. The available models to choose from are a colt 1903,czech CZ 27 and a Beretta 1935.The condition of all the three are acceptable.which one to go for or should i retain the beretta 1934.

Its bit after the fact now try posting pictures of these guns and look up the serial number of gun and check the date of manufacture from the company or any other source on the net for your Beretta 1934. Take good pictures of your current gun so members can review and advise.

Good luck

hi,you have one of thee best pistol available in our country.it can't be compared to cz or colt.cost vise around 4 to 5 lacs is the market price, depending on the bluing and spare magzine.it has very less recoil compared to cz..keep it safe .we indians can't own anything bigger than .32 acp.so no quetion about yours being .380,if it is then its illegal.have fun.

@ dr.jayakumar - contrary to what others may have told you, .380 ACP is perfectly legal and is classified as NPB (non-prohibited bore). You may want to read some of the posts under the "Legal Eagle" section here, specifically the thread on Prohibited bores.

That is an interesting observation. Could you let us know how you have arrived at this conclusion.
Superficially it looks like the genuine article.

The resolution on the picture isnt good enough to make out the engraving, and the general shape of the pistol is in line with the M1934. So still not sure how you have come to the conclusion.

BTW Check against this one.

Hi Ravi
now im really getting scared.Ya i know the engravings are for .380 acp,in fact the Berretta model 1934 are meant to fire the .380 acp rounds;model 1935s fired .32 acp.So is .380 acp rounds prohibited in India :?: am i shooting .380 or .32,could the parts have been xchanged :?:  and whats with the bodyline of the piece, sorry but didnt get u.And the if the resolution isnt enough, the engravings read P.BERRETTA-CAL7.65 CORTO-M1934-BREVET GARDONE V.T. 1941.XIX(exactly like in MOA's post)
