Beretta: Single Action only, can only be carried cocked and locked. Also only available in .32 and .22. Think it's out of production. May not jam as often due to open top slide.

Walther: Double action/single action. can be carried safely loaded in a pocket with a round in the chamber and ready to fire with no delays. Available in .380, .32 and .22 (this last only used). Still in production in germany, hungary and the USof A.

However either would be a great piece.

A properly mantained weapon, with decent ammunition is unlikely to jam.

I prefer DA over SA which would rule the beretta out for me. And Walther PPK I just dont like its ergonomics.

So the answer for me would be neither.

An experienced member here always mentioned the concern that Walther is 'jammo-matic' go for Beretta 70 and if you come across CZ 83 thats the best ( my recommendation a member from SA owns it review his detailed feedback) another similar gun is Browning BDA ( not made any more)

Best
