Carrying Pistol by Air
Hi all
i am planning to go kolkata to get my pistol. I want to travel by air but somebody told me that carrying pistol by air is impossible. please confirm this.

Dude you can carry your gun .Even though u got to check in the luggage and u have to inform them about it . You going to Kolkata to buy your handgun?

There is a thread about just what your looking for in the Legal section. Please search there. So as not to cause you unneccessary apprehension, yes you can carry a licensed handgun on board a plane flying from one place in India to another, in your checked in, declared baggage after you inform the concerned airline and get their approval. This is explained in detail elsewhere as I mentioned above.

One tip-get to the airport atleast 2 hrs ahead of the check in, to ensure the clerks and airport security have time to process your firearms carriage.
