Hello friends,

I have been quoted the following rates for .32 Revolver by dealer:

1. Colt Detective Special NP 2" barrel length- Rs.5,90,000=00  - Condition Good.
2. Webley Mark IV 3" barrel length - Rs.2,70,000=00 - Condition Good.

just to mention here a different dealer had quoted for Smith & Wesson Model 31-1 [3" Barrel] - Rs.4,12,000=00.. i think he already had a customer for it's purchase so MAY BE he topped his price by some Rs.30,000/- [my guess]... so fairly i think somewhere around Rs.3,80,000/- we should consider.... this weapon was sold within less than 24 hrs of my having a look...

anyway... please let me know the prices of Colt & webley... is detective special worth Rs.5,90,000/-

No! I do not have any intention to purchase Colt or Webley.

I saw the firing pin mechanism of Smith & Wesson model 31-1 - quite sturdy. I saw the firing pin mechanism of above Colt & Webley - very dicey... i should say. Safety bar security of IOF revolver is one of the best mechanisms & great feature available to us. Kindly enlighten me on firing pin mechanisms.

Kind regards

I wouldn't give too much worry about a colt or webley firing pin breaking or not functioning properly. If the S&W has a firing pin in the frame, let me tell you that I have a Taurus (very similar to the S&W) in the shop after less than 200 rounds. The spring that returns the firing pin back into the frame broke and locked the gun up solidly.

I've got several thousands of rounds thru webley's and colts and never had that problem.

Sorry to hear that you are limited on selection and that prices are sky high.
