Hi All,
Recently came across a Colt .32 MAGNUM CARRY revolver in blued and all steel frame at a gun dealer. It is a short/ snub nose barrel with .32 magnum carry inscribed on it. The weapon is modern and looks like in good finish. The trigger is tempered steel. (has the rainbowish finish like heat tempered metal. Grips have been changed as per dealer.
However another rival dealer tells me its a fake.... The weapon looks and feels authentic to me...
Any comments or suggestions?

I'm not aware that Colt chambered revolvers in .32 Magnum, either in the .32 H&R Magnum or the .327 Magnum flavor. My suspicion is that the chambers were recut to accept longer cases and the weapon restamped.
What kind of snub is it? A Detective Special, an Agent, or a Cobra?

Capt
On net S and W, Taurus and maybe Ruger had .32 magnum revolvers. Didnt see any from Colt. There could have been a single action. Either way be careful our desi copies and Dara look pretty authentic.. post some pictures if possible.

captrakshitsharma ,
Some pictures of the firearm, proof marks, stamping etc would make it easy for the members to answer your query.

Colt stopped making their Detective Special/Agent/Cobra/Police Positive Special in 32 long before the .32 H&R MAgnum came on the scene.
However the cylinder was long enough to have had the chamber reamed out to accept the 32 H&R. As the Police Positive was always rated for +P .38 special loads, firing a few .32 H&R's probably won't hurt it.

This revolver SUCKS !!! Stay away from it and spread the word as well. The cylinder will accept the magnum round but who will accept the consequences after it is fired.

The rainbow-ish finish on the trigger and presumably the hammer is color-case hardening.

Is it a Magnum carry or just magnum inscribed on it. As "doc" mentioned it sure would help if more details of the revolver and proof marks are given.
I have had a bad experience with a colt .32 mag. I guess colt had stoped chambering .32 S&W as .38 was the preffered choice for consealed carry. I may be wrong.

Hi again,
Like i said there is info on .38 .375 .40 cal Colt Magnum Carry but no dope on .32 CAL in Magnum Carry. I m really smitten by it but dunno whether to go for it or not as a lot of are suggesting to be wary and no one has heard of a Magnum Carry in .32 Cal. neither does the net has any info on it. Arshad bhai,s catalog also mentions Magnum Carry in .357 hence rally confused and the price is steep too.. So pls chk out the pics and request the JURY to give the VERDICT..lol .Pls

Just try pinging Colt Directly with the serial number. The copies are getting harder to discern and I agree its a great looking gun. Play it safe stick to a known commodity and I dont simply like this among other reasons because of its exorbitant cost. Makes no money sense then again its me every one to their own..
http://www.coltsmfg.com/default.aspx Get info from the source directly...also dont fret about it with your budget there will be more nourished beauties around the corner.
Best of luck
