Laser grip for Revolver

As most of you know, I have a Colt Lawman Mk V revolver in 357 Magnum. I wanted to fix a laser sight on it but cant seem to find anything on the net for the model. I use a Galco Detective Special 2" holster and that seems to fit perfectly. I tried looking for laser grips for the DS model but didnt find any.

I was thinking of ordering a laser grip which is very similar to the DS and may be get it operated on by a specialist here but I am not able to make a decision.

Any suggessions gentlemen?

Cheers

Google for Crimson Trace Laser Grips. I'm sure they have one for a Colt.

Ashar, do keep in mind that the primary purpose of a snubbie is concealment/ conceal carry and not accuracy - after all the typical range of engagement will be between 5-15 yards and so long as you can hit a man sized target at that range (using open sights) you really don't need all this extra fluff...

Try and get a few different kinds of holsters instead - IWB, OWB, shoulder, ankle etc. they will help increase your carry options... and spend the rest of the money on practice ammo, will be a lot more useful in the unfortunate circumstance that you have to use a gun to defend yourself.

Rest, it's your dime and your call... :)

Thats a good idea.I dont have a shoulder holster but I dont really see my self wearing one.I have two galco holsters. One is in tan concealable quick draw and one is in havana.I wonder if they make it in kydex.

Will have to do some research on it.

Kydex could scratch the finish.

Contrary to what Abhijeet said I would try and find a laser grip for this revolver. It's faster target acquisition may well save your life if ever you need to use the revolver in self defense. On the downside, it may also give away your position as all confrontations needn't be face to face from the outset.

We have a new member called Eagle Grips or something along those lines. He is from the U.S. and his work is considered to be excellent. If you cannot find a branded laser grip, it is possible he may be able to make you one, with the added advantage that the new grip would suit your hand better. I would send him a PM if I were you.

HydNawab,

Shoot around dusk with your revolver giving yourself a couple of seconds to hit a man sized target at 15 feet. Then decide if you need a laser grip/laser sights.Alternatively, you can get sights with tritium inserts.

Also get lots and lots of practice at the range with your revolver.Otherwise you would be at a disadvantage if and when you are called upon to use it in a life threatening situation. There is no time for any fancy shooting.Go for the largest part of the body, the torso and for this you have to train yourself. This is where someone, in India, with a .32 scores over some one with a .357Mag.

Also this talk of 'Knock Down Power' is a lot of BS.Depending upon shot placement,a man can be knocked down with a .25ACP while still not show any immediate reaction after being hit with a .357Mag.

Good sights, a good holster and familiarity with your firearm are the prerequisites to saving your skin.

The problem with my revolver is that it has fixed rear sights and air quickly is a real problem.

I agree with penpusher about the amount of practice one can get with a .32 rather than a .357 Mag because of the scarcity of ammo.

My second handgun was a .32 Beretta 81FS in Nickel with a spare magazine.I used to practice a lot with that gun.It has radium sights and a beautiful galco high ride holster.Dont have a second handgun permission otherwise would have got one.

Mack The Knife, Will send him a PM today.

Have you tried checking up with surefire www.surefire.com ?

A quick suggestion would be to try something like the Mozambique Drill on a Man sized paper target for practice purposes.

Draw/raise the weapon to chest level of the bad guy, unload two shots on the chest. Follow up right away towards the head ( two quick shots to the chest would give you the time for a well aimed head shot) if you can see the head (provided the bug*3r is still standing) take it. This would require some practice as S 3 and Abhijeet have pointed out before.
