The best way to find out would be to check the serial number and see. The Python was made in .357mag from 1955 to 1985. The company itself might be able to authenticate the firearm if you send them the serial number, there will be charges involved though. Here is a link

best,
RP.
P.S. Kindly recheck if it is the Python model. A lot of guys would call any model of Colt , a Colt Python !!

All snakes are NOT Pythons !!!!!
Colt Python ----- .357 mag
Colt Diamondback ----- .22LR and .38 spl
Colt Boa ------ .357 mag ( limited production)
Colt Anaconda ----- .44 mag and .45 long colt
Colt Cobra ------- .22LR and .38 spl
Colt Viper -------- .38 spl ( limited prod 1977)
Colt King Cobra ------- .357mag and .38 spl
Colt Krait ------ 10mm ( not sure)
Possessing the snake entire series is a collectors ultimate dream !!
best,
RP.
P.S. I couldn't find any .32 cal in the "snake" series.

Hi.. Nice gun, though I did notice a slight change in color of the body and the barrel. I may be completely mistaken, along with others who have noted no .32 version in Colt Python. Please consider this as a complete 'concern-oriented' remark only, and I still somewhere hope that is a genuine piecejames";p="52930 wrote: Friends i am attaching photograrh to validate my claim.
