Dear Sir,

1. I have collected a NSP pistol which is in a very good condition . The marking on the pistol is " AUTO PISTOL 'Z' 6.35 MM MADE IN
CZECHOSLOVAKIA. May I request few inputs from the learned members pl.

(a). I have a .32 IOF pistol endorsed in my all india arms licence, is it worth disposing off the same and keeping the 6.35MM pistol ?,

(b). What is state of availability of ammunition for the 6.35 MM?, i think it is ,25 bore ? where can i get this pistol blued
6.35MM.jpeg
, polished and grips changed ?

2. Any information on the subject is highly appreciated .

This is CZ DUO (.25 ACP) pistol.

1. Price of this pistol is almost double than IOF pistol in Indian market.
2. 25 ACP cartridges easily available.
3. Grips and minor parts, I can arrange.

If the primary purpose is self-defence, .32 ACP makes more than double the energy of a .25ACP. Both are pipsqueaks but in terms of performance the .32 is a lot better.

From Wikipedia.

.25ACP

Bullet mass/type Velocity Energy
35 gr (2 g) JHP 900 ft/s (270 m/s) 63 ft⋅lbf (85 J)
45 gr (3 g) JHP 815 ft/s (248 m/s) 66 ft⋅lbf (89 J)
50 gr (3 g) FMJ 760 ft/s (230 m/s) 65 ft⋅lbf (88 J)

.32 ACP
Bullet mass/type Velocity Energy
60 gr (4 g) JHP[1] 1,100 ft/s (335 m/s) 161 ft⋅lbf (218 J)
65 gr (4 g) JHP[2] 925 ft/s (282 m/s) 123 ft⋅lbf (167 J)
73 gr (5 g) FMJ[3] 984 ft/s (300 m/s) 158 ft⋅lbf (214 J)
73 gr (5 g) FMJ[4] 1,043 ft/s (318 m/s) 177 ft⋅lbf (240 J)

Just my opinion.

Its a good pistol but .25 acp ammo when fired from such a short barrel has less energy than .22lr so you cant stop a person attacking you who is on drugs

On a serious note its a good pistol smooth operation and more compact to carry you can put it in your shirt pocket and no one would know......I would keep the .32 if I had to choose between the two calibers
