IOF Ashani : Cocking/Slide issue
Dear Members,
My Ashani is creating problems. It's not getting fully cocked , hence bullets are not fed. Also, the slide moves forward after half cocking.
I took it to a gunsmith. He told me that this is a rare problem and one doesn't see it in Ashani. He told that there is some damage in the slide , probably due to depositing of gun. However, I have never deposited my gun. Though , it was kept for around an year without any service.
Gunsmith asked for 4500 in Lucknow, UP
Looking forward to your guidance.
Best,
Abhishek

Very unusual,
Have you tried disassembling the Pistol.
It is as if something is stuck, in the Slide.
I would suggest you spend the money and fix this.
Please don't try and fire a live round in this condition.
Regards,
Jr.

I would take that suggestion , however the causation is a real mystery to me.
Ofcourse not, I am not talking any chances. The stakes are very high.
Thanks,
Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,
Hope you have got your pistol repaired by now. Could you tell us what was the exact problem.
One reason why the slide doesn't go back could be buldge in the barrel. Because of the buldge, the barrel bush gets struck.
