Re: What is the katta gun in India?
It is illegaly manufactured weapon going on for around 100 years earlier this was called Tamacha but at that time it was legal by pricely states very popular among many gangsters at that time. Now many villages manufactures these guns in U.P Bihar and M.P een in Maharastra but r nonstandard weapons .But Siklighar sikhs r so expert in these single shot pistols their manufactured guns r much superior than any gun companies of world. They were ones in medivel times who made artillery guns with grooves and muskets with excellent grooves. With their weapons sikhs were able to overpower supeiror forces. They comes under criminal tribes but have excellent expertise in making swords daggers and guns even machineguns .During british times they were interned in protected areas Now they live in extreme poverty despite their great skill in weapon making.I had one sword from them gifted to my niece so strong divided big rock and with one stroke on coconent 4 pieces.

Re: What is the katta gun in India?
This is an illegal Hand Gun.
They are made in 12 Bore and .315 Caliber, mostly.
The Katta is unreliable and is known to burst in the hand.
Very basic mechanism with 1 Round in the Chamber and
A Hammer to Fire the Cartridge which drops on Trigger Pull.
They are mostly heavy
And look exactly as the ones in the Photo (posted by Russiashooter3).
The Gangsters in India have graduated to more advanced Weapons.
In India it is easier to buy an illegal imported Pistol,
Compared to the pains One has to go through,
To obtain/renew a License.
Sad but the Truth.

Jr.
