A couple of reasons:sumbriavikramaditya wrote:Mr. Abhijeet, please give more details. I would love to learn more from a veteran.
Regards.
1) The IOF .22 revolver is problematic especially when used with Indian made ammo. If someone is keeping a firearm for self protection (which is why most people buy a handgun), then you want it to be as reliable as possible!
2) The .32 makes a bigger hole. Anyone who talks about "shot placement" in a self defence situation, is talking rubbish! In such situations, most people would be unable to take careful aim. Therefore self-defence experts advise aiming for centre of mass, in which case a larger calibre would be an advantage.
Cheers!

You got 8 rounds small size easy draw and almost no recoil in 22 vs 6 rounds bulky and considerable recoil in 32. Which gives you more probabilty of hitting in a hurry without aim !! Choose as per your comfort level and need.mundaire wrote:A couple of reasons:sumbriavikramaditya wrote:Mr. Abhijeet, please give more details. I would love to learn more from a veteran.

Use only imported ammo in .22 and no extraction issues. It is one of the cheapest available in the market. Cheaper than 32 ammo.

In a short-barrelled pistol or revolver, when fired indoors, the report could be loud.Otherwise, the .32 is a pipsqueak in terms of recoil.

Buy the 0.22 use the remaining money for buying extra ammo. Practice with the cheapest ammo. But practise more. When you use Indian ammo, the only problem is that you have to take 15-20 min break before you can eject the shells and reload. If you are brave enough to trust our life with an iof product the caliber wont really matter. Else I would have recommended imported ammo when you “conceal carry”
Basically buy the gun and have fun plinking.

The 32 barely has any recoil. And it will be more reliable as a centerfire cartridge versus a rimfire .22. Have seen enough .22 cartridge failures.
