Yaar...those are simply 1911 derivatives...

I was thinking more in line of something a little more 'original'...

I had a boring week end so thought I'd put it to even more unproductive use and put my day dreams into 3D..(I'm a 3D artist BTW.)

Let me explain... Just had this pointless idea that I should design a gun to my personal preference, which IOF will manufacture....(when the sun sets in the east)

The 'design' (If one can honor it with such a tag), is geared for ease of manufacture, simple straight lines - took inspiration from the Glocks and Kahrs. The over all lay out is SIG-ish(I have a soft spot for them), Safety/Decocker is based on that of the S&W autos.

Action is DA while a SA should also be offered. The trigger mechanism, DA or SA is generic, so no patent hurdles.

I was envisioning no change in the Arms Act any time soon so the pistol will be in .32ACP.

High or low capacity versions.

Locked breech (Glock type) - I'm including this to allow for Hot .32ACP ammo loads.

Finish is Blue, with operating parts phosphate, and a choice of stippled plastic or Rosewood grips.

The frame can be Aluminum alloy, machined or investment cast....if machiing requires a competency level thats beyond IOF, simply have a polymer frame... just mold...thats it!

Well that's about enough day dreaming for now... just thought I'd share this... no need to take it too seriously...

Hi CC,

Mouthwatering creations. And while we are playing lets make it a .380 also available .32 and .22.
The .22 will have a walther match barrel for ISSF shooters and all that.

Thanks once again it is a nice dream.

Sweet stuff CC! :) If IOF ever hires you as a designer, let me know - I'll be the first in line to book one of your creations ;)

Sharief, any clue what one of the custom 1911 jobs (like the ones above) would cost in $$ terms?

Dreams... we all need them to keep our sanity... :)

Cheers!

Hey Dev,

This is getting to be fun - I've become a virtual manufacturer! :)
... gimme some time...I'll make a .22 ISSF version...or an 'add-on-kit'...just tell me what are the components that would be ideal or allowed for an ISSF pistol. I haven't the foggiest idea!

Abjijeet,

I'll keep a special engraved gold plated edition with whale tooth grips reserved for you...

Hey CC, keep on doing it !
Great design, especially the Lo profile Novak type rear sight
Hold one for me in phosphate/plastic and .380
NO finger rest on the mag please, it'll be my carry piece
Are you looking at 13+1mag capacity? there was a browning DA a long time ago, somewhat flippantly labelled 'steatogypus' by Grennel, but I'd still settle for the 380.
Best

► Show Spoiler
CC

You could try hatching the handle with 'marble' texture and nobody would be the wiser!

No question about it CC, your designs are "original", I hope some day they hop out of the picture into my hands, just like I had hoped for all those "other" models would ;)

Abhijeet, nobody on those forums (http://www.louderthanwords.us/forum/) posts prices but from what I've heard from guys at the range those go $2k and up. Check out Yost Custom's website http://www.yost-bonitz.com/index2.shtml they have prices on there. Apart from the price, I hear there is a two year wait.

"Understate Elegance" is a term I had read there. Nothing shiny, simple, straight, smooth, perfectly symetrically blended lines and curves.
