london made colts?

i was talking to friend in india recently who said he had a colt 1843 made in London.
can someone tell me about london made colt revolvers?

Dating from 1843 ? I should say so.
Technically of course, a revolver loads from the far end of the chamber rather than the muzzle but it is fundamentally the same thing.

That London Colt can`t date from 1843 anyway as the factory didn`t open until 1853......and closed again in 1857 after only trading for approximately four years.

There is rather a lot of web material available but probably the best reference work on the subject is a 1976 limited edition book ( only 1000 copies worldwide ) entitled `Colonel Colt London`.

As far as I know all the London Colts were assembled from American made parts.

it is a 'muzzleloader'
made of american made parts.
he said it was 1843 but i cant confirm. ive got pics though.
