Hi Friends
There is one interesting thing about magazine based firearms. suppose the magazine has capacity of 5 rounds, you can still have 6 rounds in your firearm. when magazine is full, there is always a place in firing chamber of fire arm.
so the trick is, before inserting the magazine, place the round in firing chamber and then insert magazine. you will have one round extra. This is good for all type of magazines, box or tube. but not applicable on revolvers.

Vipin, what you propose is certainly theoretically true.
However, practically speaking many pistols of older design, of which the Ashani is one, cannot be carried safely with a cartridge in the chamber. This is because the design of these guns, including the safeties, cannot prevent an inadvertent discharge.
There are some pistols of modern design that do permit what you suggest. The old Colt 1911 "Government Model" service pistol allows carrying a cartridge in the chamber more safely, but still not with perfect safety until the Series 80 version.
Whether the pistol can safely be carried with a cartridge in the chamber depends on the design of the individual pistol under consideration. This issue has been addressed by a number of threads on these boards.
