Here is a query based on my question for rifle ammo.

WHAT IS THE BEST CALIBER HANDGUN FOR WHICH AMMUNITION WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE EVEN DURING DIRE SCENARIOS OR CIRCUMSTANCES? THE SAME SITUATION LIKE RATIONING OF AMMO AND PRICES GOUGING CAN OCCUR IN THE FUTURE AS WELL. BUT HAVING A FIREARM WHICH WILL HAVE LESS CHANCES OF LOOSING IT'S FUEL SHOULD BE IN ONES COLLECTION.

Plinking, hunting big game, hunting small game, self defense, target shooting, etc.?

Everything bro. But mainly for self-defense. Try using some common sense XL. I did mention "DIRE SCENARIOS OR CIRCUMSTANCES". Read the question again.

So what's a dire scenario? Could you be more specific?
Is it something like the LA riots or an Asian Beetle invasion? Both can be pretty dire.

Yes, I am being kinda silly but the point I'm trying to make is that you need to be more specific. I don't know about you but I find it a physical impossibility to use one pistol for everything and still be able to do it well.
As I posted in an earlier post, I was unable to be very precise at long distances with a self defense pistol but I could be very precise with a larger pistol that I wouldn't use for self defense as I could not conceal it very well.
