Indians For Guns

Dear all,

This is a simple quest in order to know more about the IOF manufactured Ashani Pistol.

A lot has been known about the malfunctions this pistol and ammunition manufactured in India cause. Miss-fires, jams, inability to disassemble the pistol and service it, magazine issues etc.

Why is it that the people there still buy this pistol and ammo? Why does the government not regulate the manufacturing part of IOF and ammo manufacturing company or companies in order to strengthen the quality and reliability of these products? What use are these if they are bound to fail when a critical situation arises? Why doesn't the government lower the price of these disasters and lower the taxes and prices on imported firearms and make some extra bucks for themselves as well as ensure the safety of the innocent citizens of India? The lower the price, the more they will sell, eh mates? India has manufactured some of the most dynamic aircraft, have bought out companies like Jaguar and produce the best codes for the aviation and other industries of the world! Why screw up here?

There has been so much written on these subjects and questions here that it would be pointless to repeat the discussions for the umpteenth time. Take a few moments to use the search function and you will find all of these questions answered at least 10 times each.

Good idea Tim.

But a topic of this importance must be re-evaluated due to it's essential weaknesses. Indians buying guns that are guns which won't protect them. Indians buying ammo that will not work. Indians buying both at prices that are un-affordable.

The new comers that have entered this site may shed some more light onto this subject, may also be able to use some influence or powers to pursue and heal this malady and bring in some amount corrections to heal this situation. Every one has to revise Tim, and every thing and subject has to have a revision. If saving human life is the reason for owning a gun, then what else is important!

India can manufacture the best of products, but their lack of responsibility towards their citizens safety must be addressed in the most professional of manners.

If atleast fifty civilians had side-arms on the day of the attacks on Taj Mahal Hotel, much would have been over before the massacre happened. How many had this honor and if they did, how many side-arms would have worked with IOF and Indian ammunition as the equipment for the situation?

Think again Tim. Firearms are for human safety? Yes! But when lack of simple operations are in question......may I pursue this quandary any further?

I have thought again, and my conclusion is that it is more your responsibility to search what has been said before to determine whether a point has already been made than it is my or any other member's responsibility to respond again to points they've addressed in the past.

This notion of mine would fit in with the idea that it is more important to listen first, before addressing a subject than it is to assume that one's thoughts and ideas are so original that they have never occurred to anyone else.
