Carrying Empty Magazine in cargo luggage to india

Kindly advise if someone from USA travelling to India can carry an empty pistol magazine.

The US Federal law strictly prohibits import of any firearm, part of a firearm, telescopes, optical sights, thermal imaging devices, ammo etc etc... by any company or individual to India without official authorization by the governments of both countries.
