Post by supershaji » Wed Jun 18, 2014 7:17 pm

Hello.

What safes do we use here for safekeeping pistols and revolvers at home amongst available Indian brands like godrej, steelage etc.?

A Godrej Taurus would be a good option. I really won't trust a biometric one as it may not open at the crucial time....

Godrej Taurus with electronic number lock is the best option.

I remember an old uncle who had ordered one from the local "Almara" fabricator with 4 specifications. 1) a thicker gauge 2) powder coating 3) rake type structure inside to hold his guns and 4) a godrej lock (heard he was specific on that).

He is long gone and now the same storage safe has been slightly modified and finds lot of uses in aunts kitchen.....but still looks bloody good though

Just to add a little bit to what Farook has stated.........recently bought a safe which is of the same size and specs as the Godrej Taurus. However, the build quality is better than the Godrej safe. The manufacturer is Dorset Kaba and the model is Colt. Price paid........Rs 4380/- including VAT. It is an esafe.

Seems so Farook. Tie up between Dorset and Kaba.

Swiss perfection, cant go wrong with it. I went through their website they make a whole range of security devices. Seems to be a very large and diversified organisation. Was wondering if they have an exclusive outlet in Bangalore...
