That's because IOF Ishapore, maker of the .22 rifle, the .22 revolver, and the 315 and 3006 rifles is helping the IOF Cossipore Gun and Shell factory meet the backlog by sharing the production pressure.Just want to inform you that the current waiting period has reduced to 3-4 months, Mobile and personnel baggage can be taken there, staff is helpful and overall it was a good experience.

...and I was at the scene of the crime!
it's certainly a beauty my Brother in Arms!
here's a picture of mine which I got the next day after Whaji:
For some reason, mine has a darker nickel finish than Wahji's, and the same was the case during delivery, some people randomly received shiny silver pistols, while some received the dusky bongs.
Hey, guess that's what I'll call mine, the "Dusky Bong" ... sigh!

Re: My New IOF Pistol
Thanks a lot everyone for your best wishes,
@ss2008mm- I have purchased these grips from Pitambar gun house Noida for INR 1200
When I fired first round day before yesterday it was jammed. I was very disappointed with it. (Please note that my ammo is at least 1.5 to 2 years old).
After getting home I have tried to figure it out why this is happening?
I found that bullet is not sliding over another bullet smoothly and they stuck on the case after initial movement of 1-2 mm, while the last bullet in the magazine was absolutely fine every time. I have worked on sharp edges of bullet case (not the rim) with file and tested them with sliding back while loading.
Have fired 4 rounds and it worked fine even 5th bullet was also loaded in the chamber, which I extracted.
I think ammo is the issue and will try buying new lot in the weekend. let's see how it goes?
Hi Shaji,I was waiting for you , Please suggest a name for mine as well. Replace the grips first it will give new look to "Dusky Bong"
Just to inform everyone we have planned to meet there and had a great time together.
Thanks,
Wajhi

Since, they're twins a day apart, your's, you could call "silver dong" :p
...just kidding of course!
yours is fair and lovely, and mine is dark and beautiful!
I'll probably name mine after I start to use it, with a more callable name :p ...the 'dusky bong' is just a nick name, coz that's what it is! sigh
you can call your pistol "فضة" pronounced "fida", which means silver

Janaab-e-Ali,
Mubarak ho!
Fantastic video, just had to watch it lying on my left side :p ... aaraam se
It looks like the first ever comprehensive video on the Ashani on Youtube, thanks a ton!
Further, since you are on a roll, why don't you make a tutorial video showing how one can safely file the KF rounds off in order for them to work well with our Ashanis.
Once again, fantastic video! Kudos to you and your efforts!

Re: My New IOF Pistol
Thanks a lot Shaji Bhai,
My younger sister was holding my IPhone to shoot the video, I didnt dare to reshoot it. you know the cost of ammo
After making the video my friends have fired 4 more rounds with filed ammo while the magazine was full with 8 it worked like a charm.
I never had jamming issues with filed ammo after firing 15 odd rounds. will try to make a HOW TO video on how one can safely file the KF rounds.
Thanks,
wajhi

Re: My New IOF Pistol
Thanks for the video Wahji, out of the million videos from north america on youtube on arms; probably the third one from India. When I fired my ashani I had similar issues. Out of 14 rounds fired two jammed one of them very badly. It does appear that there is inconsistency in the diameter of iof ammo. While trimming the bullets would be one option would you say modifying the magazine itself would be a better one. It appears the magazine feed end needs some work. Changing the spring would be solving the issue completely. That said I really would not want to pay 450 a pop for imported ammo.

Re: My New IOF Pistol
Hi Farook Bhai,
Below are some points come to my mind when I think about magazine modification.
1. If there is only one bullet in the magazine it never jams. improper feeding lips would be same for all bullets regardless it is first or last in the magazine.
2. Why jam doesn't occur with imported bullets?
3. I have seen imported pistols jamming with KF ammo.
4. There are no jams after filing the bullets. (According to my experience)
All above points prove that there is something wrong with Ammo and I have spent sometime to find the issue, in my opinion the issue is not with ammo's diameter it is sharp edges on the bullet case after the rim and collar. when the magazine tries to push the bullet over another bullet, both the bullets get interlocked because of sharp edges and upward force generated by spring.
Above mentioned sliding issue is resolved once the bullet is filed and you can verify this once you put rounds in magazine, after putting every round in the magazine I test it by sliding it backward to halfway with help of my thumb. this ensures that rim is crossing the collar smoothly.
I have attached a picture of a Fiocchi ACP where you can notice that it has sliding edge compare to an IOF bullet
Hope Helpful !!!
Thanks,
Wajhi
