India must be great place for Metallurgy, even after 40 years of ban in Imports,WEAPONS still turn up in PRISTINE condition, and they are just with Dealers, would love to see the vacuum chambers the DEALERS have.

Thanks for all the responses came out. These are well maintained weapons. The Pistol with wooden grips is an unused one, The one with bakelite grips is used but in original condition. Same for the revolver. None of these weapons are blued again. The inprints are intact. These weapons are the cheapest you can find now

Probably after the broken grips were replaced with new wood ones.It is possible to reblue without affecting the stamping in any significant way.

IOF ones are cheaper still...as are a lot of crappy handguns imported over the years.

Dealer bashing is in vogue these days it seems. But if you understand the situation they are in and the kind of restrictions and hindrances the government is handing out to them, I am surprised they even open shop!

Jonah,i know the situation our Dealers have to work with, your surprise at why the are in business, let me put it very simply MOLLAH, MONEY and a whole lot of it, would you know the ex-factory rates of IOF Ammo and the premium to that, artificial scarcity is a part of daily business for them, recently was sitting with a Dealer[ picking up ammo for my 270 Win] and he quoted a price of Rs 100 + per cartridge from the last time, when asked why so much difference then the last time, the reply was U S Dollar has gained so much so the price rise  ,so plz dont sympathies with them,if they find the times so hard to as why they open shop,i am sure they will surrender the license that very day.U.S 19.95 is retail price for a Box of S & Bs in Canada= Rs 1200/- in India, the dealer there also make money,i paid Rs 7000/- for the same :deadhorse:  Best Amit.Everybody has a right to have decent returns, but HIGHWAY ROBBERY is------

My mum has a Webley revolver. Very sturdily built. It's been with her since my parents married, and that's talking of a long way!

But the pistols are utter crap. I've fired some of these and they are notoriously inaccurate, flimsily built and the ergonomics are, well, they aren't there..... Wouldn't rely on one. Rather crudely made. More like 'kattas'.

Jonah the dealers are never in a sorry state infact in a way this restriction of import of weapons have helped them flourish a lot in a single weapon deal say something about or above 3 lacs the dealer has a healthy margin of 25k to 100-200k if they do 2-3 deals in a month their day is made, if anyone is in sorry state are gun enthusiasts in India who for a good piece of weapon has to pay as much as a price equivalent to a brand new luxury car.

Amit there are actually weapons endorsed on licenses which have never been used in 30-40 years and have been maintained very well, I had a chance to come across a FN model 1922 which was bought in mid 70s with the original receipt in the name of the gentleman who was the single owner and in his license there were 25 bullets that was issued and he had all of them intact that was something remarkable holding on to a gun for forty years and never fired it..
