Hello Friends,
I would like to know if I can authorize someone to take the delivery of my Pistol. Due to some unavoidable reasons I cannot go and take the delivery. or else let me know Usually what happens if we dont reach here personally on delivery date.
Awaiting for replies and suggestions.

You sound like a least responsible person to me. How did you get a gun license, I am wondering! I suggest you to send the same query to the lic authorities. I am sure you'll get an appropriate answer.

yes if any body are a retainer on your licence. Weapons will not be issued on authority. However, delivery is permissible on behalf of the customer only to RETAINER. In that case, the name of the retainer must be endorsed in the Arms Licence along with passport size photo duly stamped/countersigned by the licensing authority. The retainer must also bring from the customer an authority letter for collecting the weapon, wherein the retainer's signature is attested by the customer.

In my opinion , I think it's best to collect your firearm in person . By collecting your arms in person , gives you the oppertunity to inspect the firearm .
I think , it is possible to get the delivery of your Pistol postporned by informing the factory , so that you can collect your firearm , in person , at a later date . But then you have to extend the "buying period " on your license extended .
I think there is a provision where you can authorize a person to collect the firearm for you , but not sure of it .
