Can both of the above be used in IOF .32" Revolver--Regular NOT Anmol?

I didnt knew there are 2 different cartridge for the long and shot barrel. There is 2 type of revolvers, short and long barrel, which is i think called anmol, not cartridge.

Dear Sa_ali
Earlier I was also sailing in the same boat as you were.
BUT
recently while going through the IOF site, I came across these two types of cartridges.
Hence this new thread containing the query.

Hello Sainikji,
Both the cartridges were developed by Smith and Wesson for their revolvers. They are not interchangeable. The long cartridge is more powerful, is currently in fashion and is more easily available. I would advise you to buy a revolver chambered for this cartridge.
Regards.

Dear Miroflex,
Nice to have a response from your goodself BUT I am sorry to say that you have not understood my question in its entirety.
My query is not only w.r.t. difference between the cartridges BUT their use vis a vis IOF .32 Revolver.
Hence the question of buying revolver chambered for this or that cartridge does not arise.
With regards.

The IOF long cartridge can be used in both the IOF revolvers, the long barrel as well as the short barrel.

Both the .32 S&W (short) and.32 S&W Long may be used in a revolver chambered for the Long, while the short is the only one that will usually fit a revolver chambered for .32 S&W(Short).
As may be common knowledge, a revolver chambered for a .32 H&R Magnum can fire both the above as well, and a revolver chambered for .327 Federal Magnum can fire all the above in addition to .327.
Regards,
Anand

You are talking about cartridges but you want the reply to be revolver specific
The reply that you seek is in the designation of the cartridges itself.
.32
Short has a shorter cartridge case than the .32
Long and as Anand pointed out while a .32 Short cartridge can be fired in a revolver chambered for the .32 S&W Long, the reverse should not be attempted.
The IOF .32 revolver is chambered for the .32 S&W Long and so can fire both.As far as the regular and Anmol are concerned, the only difference is the barrel length.
