Hi everyone...

I have license for .32 Pistol (all India) and would like to buy one .32 pistol. Earlier i thght of buying IOF make 0.32 pistol and sent them the reqd money and after 3and half months later they sent it back saying that i had sent them a "Cashier Order" rather than a DD so they are rejecting it. I Don't want to go thru the same pain and agony of dealing with Gun and Shell Factory, so need help from you people. Pls suggest me few names and contact numbers of genuine Arms Dealers in Delhi with whom i can interact and deal with. The budget is flexible (2.5 - 4L). Earlier i interacted with a dealer and he showed me Llama pistol and quoted 4.5 L for the same and a Walther PPK/S for 5.75 L. Do these prices seems OK !!! also i was not sure of the dealer and seems like quite dicey...

Plsss help..

Thanks in advance...

regards

Sudhanshu, Czech made guns are usually well built and good value for money as they are reasonably priced... BUT do keep in mind when buying any imported gun that the import of guns has been banned since the mid-80's - so any gun you buy will be AT LEAST 20 years old.

Since these are old guns, examine the gun being offered carefully. Insist on taking the gun to the range and shooting a few shots through it... etc.

There is no MRP for these guns as it is a sellers market, dealers will quote prices based on what they think YOU CAN PAY - hence be prepared to do some serious bargaining also.

If you are buying a gun for self-defence a .22 or .25 is next to useless! At the very least buy a .32 - the ammo for this is made in India so is easily available and cheaper than calibres for which ammo is not manufactured here.

Your budget is quite decent and you should be able to get a good gun, but you will have to be patient and probably visit several dealers and examine quite a few guns on offer, before you find that perfect piece.

Wish you luck in your search, and do post pictures when you get your "beauty" :)

Cheers!
Abhijeet

Hi,

Best way to search for the pistol of your choice should be to pick up the yellow pages and visit each dealer individually. Calling up would not help as most dealers would like to see your licence before they show any pistol/ firearms.

And please take the advise of the site administrator...check every thing your self as most weapons are atleast 20-25 years old...bulk of them would be reblued and probably repaired.

Last and not the least please DON'T mention your budget to the dealers. The final price depends on how deep your pockets are. The more knowledgeable you act the more u would end up paying  And take time to decide . One or two trips to a dealer would help you decide which dealer is genuine and which is not and any confusuion you could always check with members here.

Sudanshu,

There are no genuine arms dealers, business is slow,no of new Lics being issued low, fire arms available in the market few thanks to the ban on imports.

That seems good enough reason for them make a buck.

As suggested above,do not disclose your budget, else you will get ripped.

That said since you are looking for a imported handgun, ask the dealer to make available the history of the weapon, such as copy of previous owners lic etc.
Though a direct deal with the related party would be considered the best.
Fire the piece a couple of times, esp if it is a pistol.
And then keep your fingers crossed, that you dont have to use it in a real time situation. :)
cheers

Hi Every1.

Thanks a ton for replying to my query. Will start my quest once again to acquire the masterpiece.

The dealer who showed my Llama pistol was Sharda Gun House and was asking arnd 4.5 L for the pice. (attaching the pic). He told me that the pistol is brand new and he got it frm the auction done by goverment and is not 20 year old. I m not sure hw much truth was there. Also everytime he used to jack up the price so was little bit apprehensive and therefore asked for the names of the dealer who are atleast trustworthy.

cheers

This Sharda Gun House bloke was a bit under the cloud a couple of yrs ago cause of his dealings.
It was in the papers.

Is the Llama in .380.Ask him to show you the paper work, esp if he has bought it in a Gov auction.

The Beretta looks like the Tomcat.

Negotiate and try to get him down, since you have an all India Lic do keep your options open.
In your budget you should get a very good fire arm.

Both the pieces look to be in good condition.

The Llama pistol the dealer showed you was new (ist hand). These were sold in STC auction I think 4-5 years back.

The weapons were imported by STC about 15-20 .

Sorry the Beretta is the 70 Series.
They are both good makes.
If the Llama is new in the box,and he has the paper work in order, try getting him down.
Other brands that are quite popular in India are the PPK,CZ,Tokarev,Astra many more am sure some of the others can add.
Good luck and do post pics.
Thanks

Hi,

Just checked with a dealer in Lucknow. He had also bid for these weapons. He told me that the weapons are about 20 -25 years old. The most suprising thing was that though hundreds of dealers bid for the STC stock only three were sucessful. Sharda was the biggest and bulk of the handguns were purchased by him. There was another dealer from Delhi and one dealer from bellary. Need more details , bid prices etc etc.?

hi,

yes .. that would very nice to know the bid price.. as most of the other guns the billing is approx 95-98% cash and balance on cheque whereas for llama he was asking 100% cheque payment... if anyone would hv the details bout the bid prices, one can get reasonable price by additing 15-20% premium.
