.380 ACP pistols have become nothing but obscenely expensive paper weights.No ammo in the market.The fellow who was the main importer is now a sarkari mehmaan

Sarkari mehmaan literally means that he is a guest ( mehmaan) of the govt.(sarkar) Or in other words,is in jail.
Perhaps he is out now.Do not have a clue.

Considering that we have a very limited quota each year, I am not even sure if availability is an issue as long as you can get the quota

At that price .380 pistols are soon going to become showpieces.Inability or near impossibility to find ammo has,however not deterred dealers/owners from demanding a kings ransom for them and buyers from paying them.An example is .357mag revolvers.
