Re: Glock 17 or 20 in India?
Hello , Glock first of all welcome to IFG, secondly Glock 17 is 9MM Parabellum and it's PB in Indin.Glock 20 is 10MM Auto , i am not sure it's PB or NPB ,if its NPB then maybe very hard to find ammo for this cal.
i am not sure where are you so if you are outside of India then you can bring a firearm in to India under TR, only NPB firearms.i am sure lot's other member can help you on this.

PB is prohibited bore.Glock wrote:What is PB?
which means any weapon or ammo. that falls in PB catagory, can not be owned, purchased
or sold by civilians in India. Unless you have special permission.

Re: Glock 17 or 20 in India?
Concept PB and NPB was created during Lord Curzon's time(1899–1905). Any cartridge used by government forces was not normally allowed for civillians and was called "Prohibited Bore" and the rest of the cartridges were called "Non Prohibited Bore". The PB and NPB concept was the British policy of divide and rule at work. The motive behind this was that in event of mutiny like 1857 happening again, the native soldiers and civillians cannot use each others ammunition in their guns because of different cartridge sizes.

Hey Glock - adding "Please" would be a good start. And then thanking Baljit profusely for doing all your due diligence would be very apt too ! Its called common courtesy and gentlemanly behaviour.Glock wrote:Give me a link providing all its details and info.

Before you spend a ton of time and resources, the quick answer to your two questions would be NO and NO.
....unless you live abroad at present, are currently in the armed forces or are a member of Parliament.
You can find out why by searching through the extensive resources available in this forum.

A little courtesy wouldn't hurt. You aren't paying the geniuses for their time. Mod

Re: Availability of Beretta
9mm is out since it is PB, being government issue. So the answer to your question would be "possibly, but not legally", unless you can get PB license.
