Thought I would post a few picture of the ERMA WERKE MODEL: ER -432 .32 revolver. I will post more if you guys like it.
Whats the deal with steel body and alloy anyway?

It appears to be in the box IOF revolvers use to come in.The problem with this revolver is that if you fire KF ammo in it,it has a tendency to break into two parts right where the pin retaining the barrel is.This along with the Arminius revolvers that you encounter in India,did not certainly represent German manufacture at it's highest.I wold rate the IOF revolver higher than this.

Good God, Doc! That is a scary scenario...Better stay away from KF ammos, in fact better stay away from firing it altogether (Too bad they didn't make them like their mp-40's)I am getting a new beretta .32 pistol pretty soon anyway. Time to chuck this self combustible hardware. Here's a couple more pics as farewell to (this) arm(s).

I hope I don't sound rude. I first commented on your beautiful Gaur skull mounts which I felt had lost their charm when covered with the mix of sawdust and fevicol.Here I would like to mention that you should avoid putting your finger on the trigger (unless you wish to shoot) .

Loved your rifle though.

Thanks. A criticism in good faith is welcomed advice. I am sorry the pictures are not sequential. The pistols were never loaded whenever
my hands are on the trigger. I took those pictures to demonstrate the overall size of the gun and to better illustrate the distance to the trigger.
The pictures with the loaded bullets were the last in the sequence. Never-the-less you are right one should never let idle fingers near the trigger
until and unless one has to fire it as a matter of good gun ethics.

You know I'm suprised about your concern about a West German made pistol. I've owned a bunch of ERMA's and RG's and carried at least two in harms way. Have I ever had any of them fail? Had a Model 42 .25 Automatic shear off a firing pin. Frame failures? No. But I did have the good fortune to have always had access to US manufactured ammunition. Never seen nor fired any of your IOF ammo, but from the various threads I've read on this web site, it seems almost a universal opinion that IOF ammo has some severe quality control problems.

too bad you don't live a bit closer, I've got several boxes of US .32 S&W Long's. You could have them.

Also don't know of a way to ship them to you where you live at.

Virginia? Sarge thats a long way off from here. In any case It would be impossible to import it into India. Thanks for the generous gesture anyway. I would love to see some of the ERMA's that you own, please post some pics when you get the time.

Weapon is good. But keep it in safe hands. If it drop on floor , it may break. It is made of Cast Iron, brittle by body.

cast iron? that can't be right... Isn't that the stuff they use for making pots? good heat retention? Wouldn't that make the gun really unsafe?

The frames on those guns are made of a zink alloy, not cast iron. This alloy, unfortunately, tends to get brittle with age.

Many german guns of the 60's and 70's were made of Zamak 3 a high strength low melting point zinc aluminum alloy. It was a very cost effective way to produce intricate shapes without the high cost of milling. as long as they are used with proper ammo they will give a good and long service. I've owned several and not a one has failed in the 30 plus years I've carried them
