World's smallest gun

Post by danish21 » Mon Mar 26, 2007 1:42 am

The SwissMiniGun is the world’s smallest functional revolver, complete with ammunition. It shoots tiny bullets that are just 0.35 inches long.

This miniature Swiss-made revolver and its ammunition are painstakingly crafted using watchmaking technology. Looks like the little shooter could do some damage, propelling that tiny slug at 426.5 f/sec. out of the muzzle

Wow, there is one of those Kolibri auto's for sale a couple hours away.

$3,250 is a little steep though!

Once i have seen a revolver of .25 caliber fitted in the buckle of the belt in a gun dealer's shop. That time i though that it is the world's smallest gun but these pics prove me wrong.

I should say so - I saw a couple of Kolibri semi-autos come up for auction last year and they made a very small fraction of that amount.

The Kolibri has been described as "so small as to be almost useless in any context" * and "the 3-grain bullet produced about two foot-pounds of muzzle energy, which would probably have proved decisive against an enraged cockroach." *
- And that was the 3mm version !

Wasn`t the tiny Swiss revolver featured in the IFG chat room almost a year ago ? I know that in much of the world it doesn`t have to be licenced because the ME is lower than most air pistols.

Danish,
25 is not a revolver round-normally. Its a 6.35mm ACP Designed by JM Browning. Was it possibly a 22 you saw on the buckle?

badshah, that little revolver you show appears to be a North American Mini - is that right ?
Asif, I`ve seen a pistol incorporated into a belt buckle as well......can`t remember where or what though.

I`m pretty sure that the largest calibre available in the NAA Mini is a .22rf - remember they are revolvers and a .44 mag cylinder would be necessarily large. Are you sure you`re not thinking of American Derringer Asif ? Their Model 1 used to be available in .44 mag - probably still is..............although anyone who would want to shoot a .44 mag from a lightweight, short barrelled, two shot derringer is off their rocker in my opinion !

Me too Grumps-eyeballed a 22.NAA.
The 44mag mentioned was a derringer design, not too sure about the manufacturer though...what I do remember was it was targeted to undercover narcs and such-I guess to take out some hopped up coke head?
Did a major read on some forensic ballistic books and there were very informative autopsy pics on a PCP addict who didnt stop with 6 357 mags and a magazine full of 9mm from a S&W mod 39! he forgot to read Hatcher and Taylor's tables??

Asif,

A guy I know has a 22 NAA and a 22 Phoenix auto for sale at $ 100. If you want to shoot them when you're here later this month, let me know and I'll pick them up. At that price, I'll always be able to dispose of both guns if I want to when you leave. 22s are always great fun!

Cheers!
