The CZ83 is available in .32 Auto, .380 Auto and 9X18 (sometimes called 9mm Makarov)
The CZ82 is available in 9x18 only.
The CZ 85 is available in 9mm only. For all practical purposes, the difference between the CZ 75 and the CZ85 is that the 85 has an ambidextrous safety and slide release.
The Current CZ-USA online catalog shows the CZ83 available only in .32 Auto and .380 Auto.

What I was trying to say politely without attracting too much attention to Colt32's statement was that the two rounds are not interchangeable. Both the 9mm and the .380, when chambered, head space on the cartridge mouth (meaning that the case mouth touches the chamber "mouth" and stops the forward movement of the cartridge into the barrel). A .380 ACP will fit into the 9mm chamber, but will not fire because the case head will not remain flush against the slide breech so the firing pin should not set off the primer.
Do not gamble with your life, limbs, eyesight, etc by using incorrect cartridges in any gun, whether it is a handgun or rifle. Even in a well made weapon like the CZ75 series, you risk catastrophic failure by using incorrect ammunition.

Hi Kev, welcome to IFg, I was a CZ owner while in the USA, had a the CZ75B in 9mm and the .22LR Kadet as a separate Pistol. Great guns

, hated leaving them behind when I moved to India.

Anand
