Well, if there two types of plane-------one to fall off the sky and another secure and reliable, one would choose the latter. So is the case with pistol and revolver. What do you say?

If one wants to make handgun a status symbol too, there are few brands of revolver to suck few lacs. This way one can exhaust his lacs without compromising with reliability. Why pistol then?

My pistol was purchased for the princely sum of INR 15/- (yep, fifteen rupees) forty odd years back... and I'd rate it higher in terms of reliability and power than any of the .32 cal pea shooters that people pay lacs of rupees for.... HOWEVER, I'm not going around calling those people idiots... notice the difference?

Rs 15/- of 40yrs ago coupled with import restrictions would make it of lacs. Not strong enough an argument perhaps-----of course on this flimsy ground you cant hold others idiot. please dont take it personally.

There's someone out here looking for a .25 cal... get rid of yours and get a decent calibre in stead!

Somehow, I never did like the broomhandles.... too clunky IMHO, but then it's just a personal preference...

Shooting a pistol gives a lousy feeling. This feeling together with elegent look of pistol perhaps motivates one to go for it, even though it means compromising with reliabilty?

What has perhaps never happened is likely to happen here----I alone pressing for revolver, almost all others for pistol. Let the debate go on for few days more and let others join in for much clearer picture to emerge.

So that`s what`s going on.
Thanks a bunch Abhijeet - I spent three quarters of an hour typing a response to the that revolver/pistol thread correcting a misapprehension as to the operation/efficiency of auto/semi-auto firearms ( one held by both the poster and at least one other member ) and then gave the a*$eh**l* a thorough dressing down without the use of one swear word.......and then lost the lot because the `post doesn`t exist`.
Am I fed-up ? Yes. VERY.
You`re flamin` lethal when wired on caffeine - for goodness sake slow down. Coffee obviously turns you into a despotic thread merger !
Why mix the threads anyway ? You`ve now joined a decent discussion with an ill-informed, rude and ignorant rant.
