Mandeep,

I had paid 11L for the Beretta which you see on this thread 2 years back.

Dont ask what the Perazzi would cost me.

Trembling to go to Italy.

Cheers

I vote for the .357 as you will trust your life on it so it has to be "more" reliable.

Unless you have ordered something stupidly special, it should cost you less or a lakh more than what you paid for the Colt .357 Mag. This includes two return trips to Italy. The first to get yourself fitted and select the wood, engraving pattern, etc. and the second to check that they have made it right and take delivery.

At least this happened to be the case for a KSRA member who had got his Perazzi a couple of years back.

Someone here in Hyd has ordered a Perazzi MX8 SC3 with game scene engraving.I will have a look at the brochure first then decide. It will probably be a SC3 or a SCO on a Perazzi MX2000/8 platform.

Will be visiting Italy in October to visit the factory and give my measurements for the stock and select the wood and engraving pattern. As Mack The Knife mentioned, the gun has to be fitted first and then made to the specifications.Obviously, when I am putting in so much money, I would like to take a final look before I take delivery of the gun.

By the way, the SC3 cost 5.5L to the gentleman here.

Cheers

Hydnawab...

The humble .22 LR has been deadlier than any other caliber.

I would reccomend getting a .22 LR pistol and spending all the saved money on good quality ammo and practise.

I do not know what line of work you're in, but would suspect building or property. Which quite possibly means the requirement to carry.

Between the.357 and .32 the knock down of the .357 is a lot more. Especially with decent ammo.
However the high capacity of the Beretta has its attractions too.

My reccomendation, get a .22lr pistol and a .22 lr rifle. The combined ammo quota should give you enough to practise enough to use it to good effect.

MoA,

You have guessed right MoA.I am in the real estate and construction field.Surprisingly a fellow gun enthusiast gave me the same suggestion. He was mentioning that a .22 LR stinger would be more effective than a .32 auto.He also mentioned that a 357 Mag is almost like owning a 9mm except for the limited 6 rounds.

He also happened to mention that my need for carrying a handgun would be fulfilled with just one or two rounds from the 357, i.e. Godforbid I have to use it.

Cheers

Ashar,

Since you travel abroad often, and luggage rules allow the import of 50 cartridges, would reccomend getting decent expansion ammo for your carry ammo.

Cheers...

MoA,

I travel to UK and Saudi Arabia often but there is no possibility of getting 357 mag ammo from there.I am travelling to hong kong on Monday for 2 days but my license is submitted at the Home department.

Speaking of Saudi Arabia, the last time I was in Jeddah, a friend of mine with whon I always stay, showed me his S&W 9mm pistol.I believe it was presented to him by his partner who happens to be a prince in the saudi royal family. My friend got worried and said he might get into trouble if anyone finds out. He just replied "Tell them that is a present from me".
