Thanks for the post Timmy. We got to see the weapon at last though I must admit all those fingers on the triggers did scare me a little .... :D

On a serious note, its high time someone challenged the source and authenticity of this data because the media is using it at random these days and, in the process, challenging some of the basics of the RKBA movement.

India guns
Estimated total number of guns: 40 million
Number of registered, legal guns: 6.3 million
Estimated guns held illegally: 33.7 million
Only 15% of privately owned guns are legal
Firearms per 100 people: 3.36
India is second only to US in the number of privately-held guns
Source: Gun Policy
Cheers

What a joke by IOF on their captive market. These revolvers are like old Ambassador car models MARK1 - V with some cosmetic changes meant for elite or few luck ones who can manage to acquire license

This is true, Navi, but it will be interesting to see what happens if the Nirbheek becomes a "fashion accessory" that women find desirable!

Wiki says Nirbheek is Single Action, while the older Anmol is Double Action; can anyone confirm? i would have thought a purportedly defensive gun would/should have been DA(quicker to fire)?

Judging from the second picture it is double action. Unless IOF contrived to give it a long pointless trigger travel; i.e. keep everything as before and only removed the trigger to hammer linkage.
