I have the serial number will write to colt and figure out the origins of this gun.

What makes you think that the serial number will be authentic ??

As one of u pointed out the barrel looks sleeved. Even the gunsmith is in doubt and says the actual owner of the gun is saying its an aftermarket authorized conversion kit by some company authorized by colt.

Gunsmiths like that are very "creative" , they tell some great stories . I repeat what has been said again and again on the gun forums , " Buy the gun , NEVER the story ."

Try Sharda Gun House in Delhi.....he has quite a few NIB snubbies....he is expensive though....if you get it for aound 4.5 L consider yourself lucky....these snubbies are new,cause he picked up the entire lot from the STC aution a few years ago...
