Okay I agree, in this case it seems hopeless. But no compromises on where we can play by the rules eh.

Olly

This is an open forum and we all are aware of tribulations faced at every step for securing licenses and guns. Point is IFG is an open forum and such material should not be posted on this board. Its per the guidelines as stated in Rule number 2.

What I have posted is a true life experience and that too very recent. It is for the benefit of others like me to beware and expect what to get there. Ofcourse I do respect the rules of the forum and I have no intention of promoting bribery etc.

However, is it not common sense to be aware and take an umbrella when going out in rainy weather ?

The point being made was that one doesnt really need to state the obvious on a public forum, and if one has

too then perhaps in a more subtle manner :)

Licence raj is dead, long live licence raj??
I was very keen on picking up a IOF 22 revolver, but after reading about the trials and tribulations for a 117US$ revolver( a 'sat night special ' in effect) I decided against it.
While baksheesh/Inaam is a way of life in the subcontinent, maybe it requires a little careful wording/alliteration?
What about 22 IOF rifle? same story or can one buy it off a dealer?Would appreciate info.

The .22 rifle should be available easily with a dealer. Let us to check out friendly neighbourhood armoury or requisition for one if you are getting a license. I will also go for the .22 rev if you do. Abhijeet made me realize that I was spending the same amount on air guns.

Let me say it once again - BUY A SHOTTY!!! They are a damn sight cheaper (especially the single barrels) and IMHO (after a .22 rifle) the single most useful piece of kit to have around! Leave the IOF .22 rev well alone, unless you actually intend to carry one around for journeys into the hinterland... in that role too, I would seriously doubt their effectiveness if (god forbid) you ever end up in a situation where you need to use it!

Cheers!

My crystal ball shows an old English shotty that shall be procured soon as I get my lesanse. It will have 32 inch fully choked barrels but may need a little tlc before coming to life. Sounds good neh?
