Re: A new baby born... Made in India Glock?
Webley revolver will be coming at end of October. Just spoke to dealer in maharasthra. He said 100 revolver are ready and are being tested.
Once that is ok will be available for sale . He also said that next month there will be official launching.
He said that .32 pistol will cost 4.5 lacs .which was a shock to hear .
And revolver will be around 1.60 to 1.80 which is not confirm he said .
Next month picture will be clear .

4.5 lakhs for a 32 pistol? Aren't the Glocks supposed to be in the 2-2.5 lakh range, if they are released at all? They sure are asking for a lot of money for what's essentially an unproven design since this pistol of there's is brand new.

I won;t be surprised if they are indeed in the 4-5 lakhs range, given the thousands of taxes imposed on foreign companies who want to manufacture in India, it is ultimately the end-user who has to pay.

So, it looks like Glock will be living up to its affordable quality reputation after all. Even though their price is still similar to that of a custom 1911

Glock has confirmed nothing till date about launch , or any other update.
I don’t think they will come in coming 6 months it might take more 1-2 years .
And if they price the gun in 2-2.5 lacs which is still very expensive. People will still buy as compared to webley.

That is a CNC machine, there are several CNC machines, top of the line already in India. That is like an auto part being made. Take us through the process. The Parent company obviously does not make these items as we know. So a new manufacturing process has to go into place. They have taken the rights from a company, but the company itself does not make these items for years. So the tolerances as per modern manufacturing techniques, the fit and finish, who has established the benchmarks for that? Webley India? or Webley UK? The program loaded onto that CNC was it from Webley UK or was it Webley India, working of drawings, and then putting together a file?
Just curious would love to know more.

Actual name of Webley India company is 'Sial pvt Ltd.' Looks like original Webley has allowed Sial to use the name of Webley by taking very little royalty amount because original Webley has closed the manufacturing of revolvers since 1960.
Now because the original Webley is not selling revolvers from past 60 years, the reputation of the name doesn't matter to them and whatever they got as royalty amount was a lottery to them.
This particular cnc video is doubtful because if it was authentic then owner of Sial pvt Ltd should have appeared in the video and atleast spoken two words.

Totally agree with you. Webley is not concerned with quality of its Indian Licensee as it has no control over their quality or end product. Most Indian buyers will be gullible and will automatically think that it is Webley as in Webley.Vineet wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 9:47 amActual name of Webley India company is 'Sial pvt Ltd.' Lets hope more and more people read these comments and understand what they are pursuing.
On the CNC as well I agree with you.
Lets see what happens

Re: A new baby born... Made in India Glock?
I agree on the quality thing. The manufacturers here have a strong incentive to not invest as much in quality as they will have to in, say, the west. They are well aware that firearms here are more status symbols and safe queens than tools of self defense simply because the owners won't be allowed enough ammo to put the guns through their paces anyways. How are we supposed to test the crap out of these guns on a 100 round an year?
I still hope for the best though.
