Both threads on IOF .32 Ashani pistol, now merged... Guys could you please not start fresh threads on the same topic and in stead post on the existing thread discussing that particular topic/ gun?! This makes it much easier to find relevant information on the forums...
Cheers!

Re: IOF ASHANI .32 pistol
Hi Nishant
I have fired on 10m and 25m the results are mindblowing ,no recoil , as all the shots were fired in rifle club ,all indian ammo .As far as visual reaction is concerned ,newcomers asked me about the country and make of pistol ,anyway what more do you expect from 80k pistol .The fact still remains that all imported pistols are more than 25 years old . The barrel polish is far better than my old walther as this IOF belonged to one of my friend ,he being doctor and too busy only fired 25 pops in 5 years. James

James, from the pictures it is looking good. You seem to have done a very nice job bluing your gun!
Functionally, you say it is perfect... so I'd suggest don't mess with the internals. Do however, take it to the range and shoot it as much as possible. Unless you shoot it often enough, you may have a problem putting it to effective use when under stress... Needless to say after each session at the range clean the gun - especially if you are using Indian made ammo which uses corrosive primers.
You could consider importing a set of grips for it, if someone is can bring them back for you. Since it is a Browning copy, ready made grips should be available and (hopefully fit). Best option would be to try ordering some cheap rubber grips first, if those fit then you can consider some of the more expensive wood/ more exotic material grips. Though to be honest, looks apart the rubber grips are really good for daily use.
Cheers!
Abhijeet
P.S. - get at least 2 spare magazines, and a few nice holsters... hope you enjoy your new gun for many years to come

Re: IOF ASHANI .32 pistol
Thanks for the feedback,I am using s&w snub nose revolver as my first weapon, this being second and having 1 plus 2 magazine. You mentioned about imported grips ,i am using pachmayrn rubber grip for my snub nose , what imported model would be ok for IOF and just in case if any website you can recommend.James

congrats on your Ashani, James. Labour of love-all those mods. since you like its performance-keep it that way. only make sure you have removed all the factory gunk from it-amazing, some of the horror stories one hears here about IOF revolvers..Yes do clean it well, using any decent cleaning agent after the range sessions
