Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Re: HUSQVARNA PISTOL
Given the ambiguity over the pistol, and not having seen the proff marks, my advise would be to return it. Get a full refund, and then go with a safer option, like an IOF or any other pistol from a reliable source.

Re: HUSQVARNA PISTOL
Ravi, why don't you take a pic of the proof marks and upload it here? There are real pros in this forum who shall then be able to say precisely if it is a real one or not. Don't lose heart so soon, buddy, in fact, I'm in love with the stout appearance of the gun.

Re: HUSQVARNA PISTOL
Husqys were made in .32 ACP but this is not one of them
This gives the impression of being loosely based on a Ruby design although the external hammer is atypical.
Comments CC ??
We share your pain Talluriravi. Best to recover your money quickly and put the fear of God into the dealer so that no one else gets ripped off.

Re: HUSQVARNA PISTOL
Hi talluriravi,
Do be aware that what we say here doesn't necessarily translate as 100 percent fact....what I mean to say is that, who knows? there may have been just such a gun from Husqvarna- though its somewhat unlikely.
I for one, am merely stating from deductions and gut feeling. To the best of my knowledge(currently) , certain logical design elements in the gun in question don't add up.
Things like Husqvarna being generally a military oriented arsenal...though they have made (and still do) certain civilian arms, I don't know of any .32 compact(As in your case) civilian pistol manufactured by them at any point in its long history. Semi Automatic pistols were limited to licensed versions of the FN Browning M1903 and the Finnish Lathi...the others were revolvers. Both the above mentioned pistols were full size military pistols.
I am also not aware of any other pistol or arms manufacturer in the Husqvarna area.... I could be wrong here though...
Try to see if it has any legible proof marks... though it can be reproduced locally. If the piece in question is a desi beauty, chances are high, they (the proof marks) may be non-existent or utter gibberish.
regards,
cc

Re: HUSQVARNA PISTOL
H.S.BRISTO SWEDEN 784562 didn't provide any google result while the other one read:
Did you mean to search for: HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIK AB ?
Your search - H.S.BRISTO SWEDEN 784562 - did not match any documents.
Suggestions:
Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
Try different keywords.
Try more general keywords.
Try fewer keywords.

im not a gun guru nor i want to hurt your feelings dear, but whatever little knowledge im having of guns, after observing the slide catch, magazine release button and the shape of beavertail i think we are not having a swedish beauty but a real indian beauty.my advice is that you give it back to that dealer and if possible report this whole episode to local police and take legal action against that dealer and set an example before all the gun dealers of our country so none of them dare to fool anyone again.take care.take care.

Re: HUSQVARNA PISTOL
Husqvarna Vapenfabrik AB (Aktiebolag) - This much is correct. That is unless if they have spelt it as Vapenfabrika .... which would be wrong.talluriravi wrote:HELLO FRIENDS.....I OBSERVED THE FOLLING MARKS ON BARREL......
.....H.S.BRISTO SWEDEN 784562....HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKA.B.......
H.S Bristo...doesn't ring a bell ... are the markings crisp or worn? If worn, perhaps 'Bristo' could be 'Pistol'
Maybe it could have been the name of a Gunsmith/maker in the town Husqvarna but again that conflicts with the usage of the offical 'branding' - Husqvarna Vapebfabrik AB
Also I am assuming Swedish manufactured arms would more likely have the country's name in Swedish and not the Anglicized spelling...again I could be wrong here.
By the way, are these the markings on the slide or the barrel?... all that would be an awful lot of text for a pistol barrel carry. The barrel, typically should have markings only on the chamber/ejection port area. That too, only the bore (i.e .32ACp or 7.65mm) serial number and a proof stamp.
You could try gleaning some info here ( http://forums.gunboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=49) before you rain fire and brimstone on the poor sod. It is a Swedish Military Arms specific thread... though your gun is certainly not military, it wouldn't hurt to ask. It could save you a lot of embarrassment if we all end up being proved wrong!!

The picture brings out even more irregularities- The slide serrations are too crude... well most of it is too crude and clumsy to be a Husqy product....or any reputed maker thereof.talluriravi wrote:-- Thu Jul 02, 2009 11:09 pm --
I'm more convinced this is a desi 'kaunsavarna' ...

Re: HUSQVARNA PISTOL
I can see it vaguely stamped on the slide. But again this can be readily reproduced by experienced gunsmiths.talluriravi wrote:I FOUND THE SIMILAR LOGO ON THE BARREL
