A .22 LR IOF revolver with a very good cartridge say CCI Velocitor develops 138 ft lb of energy ( ME ). That surpasses the level of .32 ACP.

Even CCI stinger ( there's a ban on its sale now ) delivers quire a punch.

Winchester Power point loads ( 39 gr )0 HP develop excellent ME and have good stopping power in self defence situation.

The only defect with a .22 LR IOF revolver is lack of a safety catch, but that is true with many revolvers.

IOF recommends that you only use standard velocity Eley cartridges in their .22 revolver.

Having a safety catch on a revolver is a defect and not not having it.

In fact from what I've heard, they (IOFB) suggest using only "low velocity" imported .22 LR ammo in this particular revolver! Considering the fact that all ammo calibres manufactured by IOFB have been banned for commercial import to protect IOFB's monopoly it makes me wonder whether the boffins at IOFB are born without a brain or they simply have it removed as a part of their initiation ceremony!

Guys, a security guard of a friend wants to sell his IOF .32 revo too, it's 5 yrs old I think and probably never fired. Are these good, better than the pistol or the .22 revo?

My FIL has a rusted arminius in his safe; I'll try to have a look at that too.
Why look at IOF etc, when there is one available on the house   just have it restored
should be an intresting project.

The Arminius revs were very popular when the imports were allowed.

Cheers

Dunno if he wants to sell it; it's locked up in his safe. I'll try and broach the subject though ;-)
