Dear Dr Jayakumar,

In France, you have to firrst apply for a liicense, you can apply for 3 weapons at a time. Once the licenses are granted you have 3 months from the date of the issue of the license to buy your weapons. If you do not buy any within the stipulated time, the license is automatically cancelled. Now if you buy a weapon you will have to get it registered on your license by the police authoritiy. If you buy from a gun dealer the dealer does all the formalities of registration. If you buy from any individual person, you will have to go directly to the police station either of the seller or of the buyer of weapon to get the weapon registered on the license. The seller gets the weapon registration struck off at the same time from his license and his licen se gets free. Then the seller again has 3 months to buy another weapon.

Once you have the weapon the license is valid for 5 years an then it has to be renewed. The authority in this way keeps track of any weapon as soon as it changes hand.

Hope it is clear

best regards

Manurhin MR 73

Gendarmerie Model (Police Model)

Probably the only revolver manufacturer which can match up with Korth IMHO

Tirpassion,

Congratulations on your amazing acquisition, I was lucky enough to get few shots down range with the MR 32 match a long long time ago. Must say it always fascinated me.

Enjoy!

Dear friends,

No more suspense... Pistolero is bang on target and Anand is also right. I am the proud owner of a legendary revolver, the 'Manurhin MR73' in the 4 inch barrel version (the Gendarmerie model). It is, in my opinion and that of many many experts, the best mass produced service revolver ever made (Korth is indeed a magnificient revolver but it falls in the luxury weapons category). It is perhaps not well known in India because of it's origin (Revolver made in France???).

Here are some photos of this wonderful weapon.

Here I I would like to say that I had the option of a Colt Python at the same time which is the dream of so many people. But I declined it for the MR73. Such is my admiration and fascination for the Manurhin MR73. My revolver is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. The blueing is rich, deep with a brilliant gloss. The frame is of dark blueblack blueing. The cylinder and the barrel has a brownish blueing and the cylinder particularly reflects a cherry purple and greenish hue depending on the angle of light falling on it; exquisite!!!

Please do not panic! The weapon is not loaded with real bullets. They are false ones made of plastic material and brass base for dry firing :) .
