Re: Most expensive handgun in india
As Indian real estate prices have gone through the roof it has created a new class of 'new rich'.They are from a rural background, have limited education but a burning desire to flaunt their new found wealth and consequent enhanced social status. So besides cars ( which in some cases,no one in the family knows how to drive),lavish houses and extravagant weddings, guns are the new status symbol, money be damned. So you have these crazy prices in India.
I am happy with my (still overpriced ) IOF pistol.I am able to get all the 8 shots into a human torso sized target at about 15-20 feet and that is good enough for me.Would I have bought it if I were able to get a S&W/Beretta/..... for the same price or less? NO. But as the situation stands, definitely.
Since the policy on manufacture of arms for the civilian market has been changed,it is only a matter of time before some one starts manufacture. Will wait for that time.Hopefully my 5 year lock in will be over before that

Agree with you winnie. I bought my IOF .30-06 after hearing all those ridiculous prices of the same cal weapon. And those prices for pieces that have seen use for a minimum of 25 years!
Check today's offers on the sale section on .30-06's. You'll get the drift.

Policy on manufacture of arms for civilians has been changed - I do not think I have heard a thing like this. Definitely it will be a news.

Isn't it cheaper to buy an outdated tank from some african dictator than pay the rediculous prices for imported weapons!! Wonder if Gaddafi's T55 tanks are for sale

Manufacture of arms in the private sector may be allowed on limited basis subject to Industrial license to be issued by DIPP.
Sports weapons and NPB weapons may be supplied to registered arms dealers for sale to licence holders only.
