The TDI KRISS Vector is now available in a pistol configuration. This allows civilians to purchase a short barreled configuration where previously they were limited to the 16" carbines. The military and law enforcement the select-fire pistol version makes for a compact and controllable PDW.
How is this thing a pistol??

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Because this contrapion is nothing more than a Pistol in a larger frame. The trigger at the back actuates a mechanism in the trigger on the pistol mechanically.
Additionally it allows for a longer than noral pistol barrel.
In my eyes it is neither a SBC or Pistol, but a complete waste of money. There is the famous saying.. 'A fool and his money are parted easily.' Sums up my opinion.

It falls into the PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) genre, more effective than a pistol, with greater range and greater penetration, but less cumbersome than a carbine. For troops not normally engaged in directly fighting the enemy. Though in this instance, I believe, it is in a pistol caliber. It is, however, intended for police and military users. As for civilian use, well, you could keep it beside your bed. Cheers.

Hi Guys,
This is Prashanth here.... I am sorta new to this forum so please bear with me. The Kriss TDI fires and .45ACP cartridge. But the better part is that it apparently has a lesser percieved recoil then other SMG's firing that round. It uses a new mechanism where the mass of recoil is directed downward than backwards into the shoulder. This gives more control and greater accuracy when fired in full auto mode. Its not a complete waste of money. Its technically not a CCW. It is probably said to be in pistol configuration because its a little smaller than the full size SMG. Sorta like the UZI Pistol

Hope this helps

Prashant,
To compare that with an Uzi or the subcompact MP5 versions is like well comparing a katta with a well HK

It uses a new mechanism where the mass of recoil is directed downward than backwards into the shoulder.
I disagree with this explanation. The mass of recoil cannot be directed downwards, it is always bound to go backwards. The universal laws of motion cannot be changed, as per Newton's third law ''To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction: or the forces of two bodies on each other are always equal and are directed in opposite directions''
Ref:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton%27s ... al_actions
This gives more control and greater accuracy when fired in full auto mode.
What they have done is reduced the resultant torque by reducing the perpendicular distance between the opposing forces in action, when gun is fired. Whenever a gun is fired, the upward swing(torque) is product of magnitude of force generated(product of mass and acceleration) and the perpendicular distance between the barrel and the point where the recoil is absorbed.

Sorry Guys.....
Wat i am saying is purely out of what i saw in a program called "Future weapons" on discovery. And MoA..... Its comparing it to another .45 cal SMG's such as a HK UMP 45.
